Which Carolina Panthers have the potential to get demoted during the 2020 season?

The Carolina Panthers go into the season with little expectations. But that does not mean there isn’t pressure for those in starting jobs to deliver the goods.

New head coach Matt Rhule has assembled a young and talented roster that should be a good foundation from which to build a future contender. The Panthers drafted well and brought in some notable faces in free agency with what little money there was available. But whether this will transition into any immediate turnaround remains to be seen.

If senior members of the team fail to meet expectations early on. Then there is a real chance they are going to be replaced by those who are ready and waiting for their opportunity.

It will be a case of trial and error for Rhule during his first season at the helm. And how the Panthers perform in 2020 will tell the former Baylor man plenty about what else is needed to push the organization to new heights next year.

There are plenty of places up for grabs in the coming weeks as Carolina gets set for a return to training camp. While starting places might initially be given to more experienced players. They will need to prove their worth and prevent those behind them on the depth chart from getting an opening.

This is all some of them might need to take their games to new heights. The Panthers will rely heavily on their youth next season. And although this is going to come with its fair share of inconsistency. All the organization will look for is a progression in the face of stern competition.

Here are four members of the Panthers who could find themselves demoted in 2020 if they don’t hold up their end of the bargain.
