Carolina Panthers Player No. 4: Samuel Cosmi (OT) – Texas

Another prospect that brings an enormous sense of intrigue is Samuel Cosmi. The Texas offensive tackle is extremely intelligent. And although he needs to bulk up at the next level. He does have some very likable traits that could see the player taken in the first round.

Cosmi has a substantial amount of upside. He isn’t the biggest of lineman. But he set himself up on the right angles on almost every snap.

The lineman also has a nasty streak to his game when coming up against pass-rushers. Cosmi is a law unto himself at times. But he has all the athleticism and natural technique needed to make a success of his professional career in the NFL.

If the Carolina Panthers opted to take Cosmi, then it would be more beneficial to put him at right tackle during the early stages of his development. This would allow stud protector Taylor Moton to move into the left tackle spot, providing the organization can work out a lucrative extension with the player next spring.

Cosmi’s technique will also need coaching up. So it will be interesting to see what adjustments the player has made to his game during his final college season if it takes place.

He will be a player that is high on a lot of teams’ draft boards. And if Cosmi can show improvement in his balance and patience on the line of scrimmage. Then the Longhorn is sure to be a hot commodity during the evaluation process.
