1. New England Patriots

One realistic option that could look in Graham Gano’s direction is the New England Patriots. The organization is going into the season with more uncertainty than during any time in Bill Belichick’s prolific reign so far. And it remains to be seen how they are going to cope with such substantial losses across the board.

The Patriots were dealt a blow when prominent figures such as Dont’a Hightower and Patrick Chung decided to opt-out next season. And they will already be without the services of perennial Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady.

Belichick is clearly on a hiding to nothing next season. And although he did pick up signal-caller Cam Newton at a bargain price following his messy departure from the Carolina Panthers. It appears unlikely that they will mount another prominent postseason push next time around.

They go into the campaign with fifth-round pick Justin Rohrwasser as their No. 1 option. And although he does have tremendous upside. Bringing in somebody with more experience might be crucial if New England wants to make an impression.

The franchise might be happy with what they have. But Gano wouldn’t come with any great financial commitment and is an intriguing option for the Patriots, at the very least.

Newton’s opinion might be sought regarding a potential move. And the 2015 NFL MVP has seen first-hand just how consistent the kicker has performed in recent years.
