3. Indianapolis Colts

Another team that might be in the market for an experienced veteran kicker such as Graham Gano is the Indianapolis Colts. They ended their long association with record-breaking Adam Vinatieri this offseason. And there doesn’t appear to be a lot in the way of production with their current options.

Chase McLaughlin looks primed for the No. 1 spot if the Colts decide to keep things as they are. But he has been a journeyman during his short career to date. And it remains to be seen whether he ready to step up into a more prominent role.

Indianapolis also has rookie kicker Rodrigo Blankenship on their books heading into training camp. The former Georgia standout comes with a big reputation. However, if the organization wants to make the most out of their impressive-looking roster elsewhere then bringing in a more dependable presence at kicker might be a welcome move.

Gano is arguably the best available following his release by the Carolina Panthers. And if the Colts are intent on making their presence felt in the postseason ahead of a possible shot at the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Then this is an option they should strongly consider.

They have a possible Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback in Philip Rivers, an elite offensive line led by Quenton Nelson, plenty of offensive weapons, and a defense that is sure to be improved thanks to their eye-catching trade for DeForest Buckner.
