Carolina Panthers: 4 candidates for training camp MVP

Carolina Panthers Player No. 1: Curtis Samuel (WR)
The Carolina Panthers have plenty of exciting options at the wide receiver position. They filled this area of the field with players who can make a real difference during free agency. And new offensive coordinator Joe Brady is blessed with an embarrassment of riches to call upon if required.
One individual who comes with a significant amount of upside is Curtis Samuel. The former Ohio State standout is coming off a career year. And this is very encouraging for the player and the organization going forward.

Samuel is an electrifying threat with the ball in his hands. The wideout is incredibly elusive both in open space and tight windows. And his stats might have been far better in 2019 had Carolina’s inconsistent play from quarterback not missed some wide-open looks.
This is a crucial season for Samuel. And if he takes another leap forward. It is going to put him in a good bargaining position when he enters contract negotiations next spring.
The second-round pick in 2017 is entering the final year of his deal and will make a base salary of $1.22 million next season. There is little doubt he has the potential to significantly outplay this financial commitment in the coming months. And if Samuel can get close to or surpass the 1,000-yard mark. It is going to put him in line for a lucrative extension either in Carolina or elsewhere.
Samuel has all the athleticism and talent to stand out significantly during training camp. And a quality showing should see his role increase.
