Carolina Panthers: 4 candidates for training camp MVP

Carolina Panthers Player No. 2: Jeremy Chinn (S)
There is plenty of intrigue surrounding Jeremy Chinn heading into 2020. The Carolina Panthers made a bold move by trading up to acquire his services during the NFL Draft. And the former Southern Illinois standout comes with a tremendous amount of upside.
Chinn has everything that the Panthers coveted heavily this offseason. He is fast, athletic, and also has the versatility to impact the game almost anywhere on the field. This is going to be a massive asset for Carolina’s coaching staff to call upon. And how the safety is utilized early on is going to be something to watch closely.
The second-round pick has already stated his desire to be classed as a defensive playmaker rather than be tied down to one position. Chinn could slot in at safety. But his physique and football IQ make him a prime candidate to come down to the second level in run support or as a slot cornerback.
This is a young and relatively unproven defense going into the season. Most of them will be getting a baptism of fire in starting roles. And although the same applies to Chinn, the player has a good pedigree and should be able to make a smooth transition to the next level.
There appears little doubt his skill set is going to wow players and coaching staff alike in the coming weeks during training camp. But producing it on the field when the season gets underway is a completely different ball game.
