Carolina Panthers: 4 weakest projected starters in 2020

Carolina Panthers Player No. 4: Dennis Daley (OL)
According to ESPN’s depth chart predictor, Dennis Daley is projected to fill the second guard position over other hopefuls such as Michael Schofield and Tyler Larsen. This would be a massive confidence boost for the player during his sophomore campaign. But whether he can bounce back after a dismal 2019 is up for debate.
Daley was thrown to the wolves as a rookie. This was largely down to a lack of options elsewhere. And it was clear early on that the former sixth-round pick was not ready to see any meaningful game time.
The tackle gave up seven sacks and four penalties from 686 snaps on his way to a 58.3 grade from Pro Football Focus last season. Taking him out of the firing line and placing Daley on the interior seems like the smart move for all parties. And the South Carolina product has the necessary size and strength to make a real go of things at the position.
That being said, the simple fact of the matter is that we just don’t know how much Daley’s torrid experience as a first-year professional has done for his mindset. This leaves the player as a possible weak link for the Carolina Panthers.
Whether the player can bounce back is going to tell us plenty about his chances going forward and the sort of character he has in the face of adversity. And all this will be entirely up to Daley.
