Carolina Panthers: 3 free-agent replacements for Christian Miller

Carolina Panthers Player No. 1: Mychal Kendricks (LB)
One option that might be worth considering for the Carolina Panthers is Mychal Kendricks. The versatile linebacker can slot in anywhere on the second level. And he has accumulated a wealth of experience throughout his NFL career to date.
Kendricks would offer something a little bit different from what the Panthers currently have. He is a natural leader that has played a notable role in the Seattle Seahawks when he saw the field in 2019. And this was further reflected with his 62.7 grade from Pro Football Focus.
The veteran is never going to blow you away with explosiveness. But what Kendricks does have going for him is a savvy style of play that brings results.
This is something that only comes with experience. And there appears little doubt he wouldn’t be willing to accept a veterans’ minimum deal in order to get another opportunity of making a roster.
Carolina represents a team that has more openings on the depth chart than most. But whether Kendricks can pick things up quickly is another matter entirely. There is also the obstacle of having no preseason games to overcome. So this would stack the deck even more.
Kendricks boasts career stats of 19 sacks, 548 combined tackles, 404 solo tackles, 52 tackles for loss, 38 quarterback hits, seven forced fumbles, and 30 pass deflections over an eight-year span. This would be a low risk, high reward pickup by the Panthers. And one that may end being an absolute steal.
