5 potential Pac-12 opt-outs on Carolina Panthers’ radar in 2021

Carolina Panthers Player No. 1: Paulson Adebo (CB) – Stanford
The Carolina Panthers chose to wait until the fourth round in 2020 to take a cornerback. If their current group fails to deliver, it will see their priorities regarding the position change dramatically next year.
Donte Jackson is cemented as the Panthers’ No. 1 option next season. But free-agent signing Eli Apple comes with more than his fair share of concerns after flattering to deceive during his career so far.

Former Notre Dame speedster Troy Pride Jr. has the chance to contribute during his rookie campaign. But it would not be a surprise to see Carolina allocate an early rounder on further boosting a position that is expected to be under some considerable pressure in 2020.
One option that warrants significant consideration is Stanford’s Paulson Adebo. The corner comes with an exceptional skill set that appears to be ready for the pro ranks. And a potential opt-out might not hurt his hopes of being taken in the first round.
Adebo has two years of solid college production for NFL scouts to call upon. He secured four interceptions in both campaigns for the Cardinals. And this is a further reflection of his ability to perform well under pressure.
One element of his game that gets overlooked is his aggressive tackling in running situations. Adebo has no trouble getting involved at the second level should the opportunity arise. And what he lacks in elite speed, he more than makes up for physicality on the line of scrimmage in a press scheme.
