Carolina Panthers Player No. 3: T.J. Green (DB)

T.J. Green’s versatility puts him in a good position during training camp with the Carolina Panthers. But whether this is enough for the player to secure a roster spot remains to be seen.

The player can operate anywhere in the secondary with solid efficiency. And Green has plenty to prove heading into the final year of his deal with the Panthers.

More from Cat Crave

Green was a second-round pick back in 2016. But he failed to make any sort of real impression during his time with the Indianapolis Colts despite seeing plenty of snaps during his first two years.

It didn’t take long for the Colts to move on from the Clemson product. And it has been a frustrating time in the league for Green ever since.

He does have career stats of 65 solo tackles, 90 combined tackles, five quarterback hits, five tackles for loss, and three pass deflections to back up his claims. However, there does not appear to be a lot of openings for Green in his pursuit of an important role with the organization.

Tre Boston, Juston Burris, and Jeremy Chinn look set to be the top three options in Carolina. And there is plenty of intrigue surrounding fifth-round selection Kenny Robinson after a standout spell in the XFL.

This has left Green firmly on the roster bubble heading into camp. And if there was ever a time for the player to finally reach his potential, then this is undoubtedly it.
