Parsons is a highly intelligent individual. He recognizes gap penetration supremely well. And the player’s football instincts are there for all to see on almost every down.
It didn’t take long for people to sit up and take notice of Parsons during his first year at Penn State. He ended 2018 with 47 solo tackles, 82 combined tackles, four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles during a campaign that was littered with memorable highlights.
To say that Parsons took a giant leap forward last year would be a slight on just what sort of impact he eventually made. He was absolutely relentless from start to finish, recording 109 combined tackles, 53 solo tackles, 14 tackles for loss, five sacks, four forced fumbles, and five pass deflections.
This sort of elite production is something that is sure to leave NFL scouts salivating at the prospect of bringing the player to their franchise. The Carolina Panthers will be one of these. And this sort of talent will be hard to pass on.
