Carolina Panthers Reason No. 3: The highest of ceilings

It is remarkable what Micah Parsons has accomplished in just two seasons playing linebacker. He was a big-time high school recruit as a defensive end. But he has made the smoothest of transitions to the second level.

There is simply no telling just how much better Parsons is going to get in the future. He will benefit enormously from professional coaching during the early stages of his development. And getting prominent playing time at the next level will be another huge shot in the arm for his long-term aspirations.

Parsons is heading into the evaluation process with the highest of ceilings. And it would be a huge surprise if he didn’t wow evaluators further at the NFL Scouting Combine.

This is as close to a slam dunk as teams are likely to find in next year’s draft. Parsons is a do-it-all presence in a critical area of the field. And he was potential Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection written all over him.

Whether the Carolina Panthers choose to take him ahead of a quarterback will come down to Teddy Bridgewater’s production. But if the free-agent arrival proves he still has what it takes as a starter, then the organization should look no further than Parsons.

He literally has everything one looks for in a potential stud at the linebacker position. And he is a prospect that is sure to be a hot commodity next year regardless of his decision not to participate in 2020.
