Carolina Panthers Player No. 2: Adarius Taylor (LB)

Adarius Taylor gets another chance to make a second impression after being released by the Carolina Panthers following his rookie season. The linebacker has bounced around the league ever since. But the organization opted to bring him back into the fold late last month.

Taylor was a stud at Florida Atlantic and showed glimpses of promise during his first taste of NFL action in 2014. He failed to make it past the final round of cuts prior to Carolina’s memorable 2015 campaign. And he has his work cut out making an impression in such a short space of time.

Last season saw Taylor turn out for the Cleveland Browns. But he did not do enough to earn a prolonged stay with the franchise despite turning out in 15 games.

He comes to Carolina with a big point to prove. And this represents an area that lacks significant depth following the decisions of Christian Miller and undrafted free-agent Jordan Mack to opt-out.

Taylor has more experience than most looking to stake a roster claim. This is another element that might work in his favor. But learning a new scheme on the fly is not the easiest task at the best of times.

That being said, the Panthers brought him in for a reason. Taylor has some likable traits that might end up with the linebacker earning a place on the 53-man roster in a complementary role next season.
