Carolina Panthers vs Washington Football Team (Week 16)

There’s nothing quite like going up against your former head coach. The Carolina Panthers will get this opportunity in Week 16 of the 2020 season against Ron Rivera’s new team in Washington.

It will be a great opportunity for the Panthers to show that they have continued to develop since the departure of their long-time coach. It will also be added motivation for Rivera to have his team ready to go against the team he led for nine seasons.

There shouldn’t be bad blood in this contest because Rivera is simply not a guy that holds grudges. However, Washington will definitely be excited about getting the opportunity to win one for their new head coach.

Carolina lost to Washington last season by a score of 29-21 in Week 13. But it didn’t matter much as neither team was in serious contention for a playoff spot.

At the end of that matchup, McCaffrey and Washington’s running back Adrian Peterson had a very cool moment when they swapped jerseys after the game. It was as if the former MVP at age 34 was passing the torch to the Panthers young superstar. It will be cool to see what is in store for the two All-Pro backs this time around.
