Although there is a possibility that Cameron McGrone returns to Michigan. If he does decide to declare for the 2021 NFL Draft, he is a player that could end up being Luke Kuechly’s long-term replacement for the Carolina Panthers.

McGrone has one season of exceptional production from a starting role. And the linebacker is riding on the crest of a wave.

He recorded 65 combined tackles, 38 solo tackles, nine tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one pass deflection, and one forced fumble in 2019. And although missing an entire season is not ideal. His skill set is something that should command considerable interest during the evaluation process.

McGrone will need to improve his ability to cover in passing situations. But this is something that should improve with more reps under his belt. He represents a highly intriguing prospect for the Panthers. And he could be the answer to their prayers after Kuechly called it a day earlier this offseason.
