Which members of the New England Patriots could the Carolina Panthers possibly acquire in the trade market to boost their fortunes?

The Carolina Panthers have made some bold moves in a bid to turn around their fortunes this offseason. Things became somewhat stagnant under Ron Rivera during his final season at the helm. And few would argue that a rebuild of this magnitude was not welcome at this juncture.

New head coach Matt Rhule’s record for building up struggling college programs is there for all to see. He completely transformed Temple and Baylor into some of the strongest teams in the country. And although this does not guarantee success in the NFL. It does give the Carolina Panthers great hope that they have the right man in charge.

The decision-makers were ruthless in their actions during free agency. This is all part of the cutthroat world of the NFL. But much more will be needed down the line in order for the Panthers to enter the postseason discussion in the coming years.

They should have enough salary cap room to become more prominent players in the free-agent market. And Carolina also has the option of exploring trades if a player of interest catches their eye.

Continuing our feature looking at possible trade targets from every NFL team, we now turn our attention to the New England Patriots. Bill Belichick has his work cut out trying to keep up his extraordinary record that now spans two decades. And he has not been helped by a series of opt-outs by prominent locker room leaders in 2020.

What the Patriots do have is former Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, who ended a spell on the free-agent scrapheap with a bargain basement deal. This could be a masterstroke from Belichick if the 2015 NFL MVP is over his injury problems. And the signal-caller comes into a new environment with the biggest chip on his shoulder.

Here are three players that the Panthers could look at acquiring via trade from the Patriots.
