Carolina Panthers Matchup No. 3: John Miller/Michael Schofield vs Grady Jarrett

The Carolina Panthers made big changes to their offensive line in free agency. They made the bold move to trade away Trai Turner in exchange for Pro Bowl left tackle Russell Okung. And this has left a gaping hole on their interior that needs to be filled.

This responsibility is expected to fall on the shoulders of John Miller and Michael Schofield. Both are new to the Panthers having been brought in on short-term deals this offseason. But they face a daunting matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in the form of Grady Jarrett.

The stud defensive tackle is one of the best in the business. And he is coming off a campaign that saw him emerge as an elite performer at the position.

Jarrett finished the season with 7.5 sacks, 69 combined tackles, 38 solo tackles, 16 quarterback hits, 12 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles. This was enough to earn the player a lofty 90.1 grade from Pro Football Focus to further enhance his overall standing across the league.

Miller and Schofield might only be plug and play starters in the short-term. And there is no doubt that Jarrett will be licking his lips at the prospect of coming up against them during his games against the Panthers.

Carolina also has Matt Paradis to help from the center position on double-teams. But he goes into the campaign with plenty of questions to answer after a disappointing 2019.
