Delvin Breaux – CB

The Carolina Panthers might be in the market for additional reinforcements at cornerback before their Week 1 opener against the Las Vegas Raiders. One CFL option that is now looking for a job is Delvin Breaux.

While there is little disputing Breaux’s talent. There is a significant red flag regarding his health. The corner ended up back in the CFL because he was having trouble getting medical clearance from NFL teams looking to sign him.

This was down to long-standing neck problems that have blighted his career. Breaux broke several vertebrae in his neck back in 2006. And there are also the issues of a broken fibula and shoulder to consider when examining his potential.

Breaux has some NFL experience with the New Orleans Saints. And he emerged as one of the organization’s most heart-warming stories in 2015.

The player was on the field for 89 percent of the Saints’ defensive snaps that season. And this resulted in Breaux recording 37 solo tackles, two tackles for loss, three interceptions, 19 pass deflections, giving up just 40 of 82 targets in the process.

This resulted in Breaux getting a lofty 75.8 grade from Pro Football Focus. And although things have not gone to plan since then. If the player can prove his health to another team, then it is more than likely going to come with a workout, at the very least.
