4 players feature in Week 2 stock-watch from Panthers’ camp

UP: Sam Tecklenburg – OL
New head coach Matt Rhule singled out Sam Tecklenburg for some special praise after being impressed with the way his former college offensive lineman has adjusted to an NFL environment. And this is a huge plus for the rookie as he aims to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.
This is an area of the field that has its fair share of concerns heading into 2020. The Carolina Panthers opted to trade away perennial Pro Bowl guard Trai Turner. And it remains to be seen whether John Miller, Michael Schofield, and Dennis Daley can provide good enough protection on the interior.
There may be an opportunity for someone like Tecklenburg to make his presence felt. This would be a fantastic achievement from a player who initially decided that professional football wasn’t for him before Rhule convinced him to come on board in Carolina.
All the early signs regarding Tecklenburg have been immensely positive. His work ethic has been matched with some strong production during team drills. And although it might be asking too much of the player to fill a starting role right away. There is every chance he is going to be part of the set-up if he continues this trend in the coming weeks.
All Tecklenburg can do is keep impressing at training camp. And Rhule will know more than anyone what the lineman can bring on game day.
