UP: Curtis Samuel – WR

To say Curtis Samuel has been electrifying during team drills so far has been something of an understatement. According to multiple reports, Samuel has been lights-out on the field in recent days. And this only heightens expectations regarding a potential breakout season for the wide receiver in 2020.

This is a big year for Samuel. The former Ohio State star is expected to be used in different ways by the Carolina Panthers to aid them offensively. And if the wideout takes another leap forward it is going to come with some substantial rewards from a financial perspective.

Samuel is heading into the final year of his deal and will make a base salary of $1.22 million next season. If the 2018 second-round pick can showcase his supreme skillset and stay healthy for a second consecutive year, then a big-money deal will be in the offing either with the Panthers or elsewhere.

There is nothing Samuel cannot do with the ball in his hands. He possesses a rare blend of speed and elusiveness. But whether he can surpass free-agent signing Robby Anderson for No. 2 on the depth chart during the campaign is up for debate.

What Samuel brings to the table is probably best suited to the slot at this point. His ability as a running back is something else that Panthers’ fans could see more prominently in 2020. And his potential is simply limitless.
