What are some of the new individual battles to keep a close eye on when the Carolina Panthers take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020?

The Carolina Panthers are sure to face a stern test of their credentials when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in divisional matches next season. Their NFC South rival has gone all-in on winning a Vince Lombardi Trophy this offseason after a free agency period that was the most frantic in franchise history.

Getting highly decorated quarterback Tom Brady to the organization was a real coup and one that propelled them to relevance. The Carolina Panthers made a couple of big splashes of their own, but none had the profile of a six-time Super Bowl winner and one of the best to ever do it.

Anything less than a deep postseason run would be a failure for the Bucs. They are loaded on the offensive side of the ball and their defense was surprisingly good in 2019. All signs point to them giving the New Orleans Saints a real run for their money for the division title. But there is a small possibility that father time might finally catch up with Brady aged 43.

Expectations are far lower for the Panthers in 2020. They are working with a completely new coaching staff and roster. So any success they can generate will serve them well as the organization looks to become a contender in the not-too-distant future.

There are plenty of new individuals battles worth keeping a close eye on when the Panthers take on the Bucs’ next time around. Here are three that will go a long way to determining the outcome of both games.
