New Orleans Saints 2020 team preview

The New Orleans Saints won the NFC South division for the third year in a row last season. They finished 13-3 and outscored their opponents by an outstanding 117 points.

The Saints possess the most dangerous offense in the division and quite possibly the entire NFL. New Orleans locked up All-Pro quarterback Drew Brees to a two-year extension in March. They also have arguably the best running back and wide receiver combo in the league with Alvin Kamara taking the handoffs and Michael Thomas lining up outside.

New Orleans improved on paper in the 2020 offseason as well. They addressed the only real weak spot that the team had on offense. They added Emmanuel Sanders to play opposite Thomas and take some of the double coverage away from him.

The Saints’ defense is also nothing to take lightly. They have legitimate playmakers upfront on the defensive line as well as in the secondary.

It will take a valiant effort for one of the other three NFC South teams to dethrone the Saints. One thing that is working in the favor of the underdogs is that New Orleans could be without its’ incredible home-field advantage due to COVID-19.

Still, the Saints will likely be in the running to win their fourth straight division title barring any significant injuries to the team’s core players.
