Play to their strengths

What will be important to the Carolina Panthers if they want to get any success next season is not to get too ahead of themselves. They need to play to their strengths on both sides of the ball to avoid any further complications. And it will be up to the coaching staff to ensure there is a proper plan in place to achieve this.

Offensive coordinator Joe Brady has plenty of exciting options available to him. There is expected to be a consistent presence under center in quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. And their wide receiver trio of D.J. Moore, Curtis Samuel, and Robby Anderson should also feature heavily during the campaign.

That being said, the Panthers’ offense should continue to run through their star player, Christian McCaffrey. The All-Pro will be at the heart of everything good in Carolina once again next season and if he performs well, it will open other areas of the field for playmakers to do damage in the passing game.

This has to be objective No. 1 for Brady. If the coordinator puts McCaffrey in the best possible position to fire on all cylinders from the word go, then the sky is the limit for Carolina’s offense.

On defense, the Panthers must rely heavily on their front seven generating enough consistent pressure. The more pressure this unit can take off the secondary during their initial period of transition, the better it is going to be for their aspirations.

That might be easier said than done, particularly against some elite passing attacks on the schedule. But there are plenty of encouraging signs regarding the options available to defensive coordinator Phil Snow next season.
