Carolina Panthers Player No. 5: D.J. Moore – WR

It beggars belief that D.J. Moore is still the same age as some rookies entering the NFL this year. The wide receiver has got superstar written all over him if he takes another step forward in 2020. And this is a real possibility with more consistent quarterback play and better tools around him.

The Carolina Panthers appear to have struck gold with another high-end NFL Draft pick in Moore. They selected the former Maryland standout No. 24 overall in 2018 and the wideout has made a significant impression in a short space of time.

Moore has been showing out in no uncertain terms at training camp. His ability to catch under pressure has been a prominent feature of his contribution. And Matt Rhule can count himself extremely fortunate to have a player of this caliber heading into his first season as an NFL head coach.

His chemistry with signal-caller Teddy Bridgewater already looks on point. If the duo continues this trend during the season, then it could result in Moore easily surpassing the 1,000-yard receiving mark he somehow managed to attain in 2019.

The fact that Moore managed to get four-figures in yardage given the Panthers’ struggles under center was nothing short of remarkable. This should give the receiver plenty of confidence as he looks to enter the elite discussion next time around.
