Carolina Panthers player No. 3: Myles Hartsfield – DB/RB

Myles Hartsfield has been making a big splash at training camp. His showcasing what he has to offer on both sides of the ball. And this has clearly gone down with coaching staff in recent weeks.

The undrafted free-agent has made some impressive plays in his customary position at defensive back. Hartsfield has also been getting involved in the running game to further bolster his chances of making the 53-man roster with the Carolina Panthers.

It still might be a long shot for Hartsfield, as is the case with most rookies trying to make their way in the league after not hearing their name called in the NFL Draft. All he can do is keep performing at a high level for the closing stages of camp and hope that will be enough to be included.

Having more than one string to your bow is something the Panthers coveted heavily in almost every recruit this offseason. Hartsfield’s ability to make things happen in multiple positions could be a useful asset to call upon when push comes to shove during the campaign.

Not having any preseason games to see what Hartsfield can do at the next level before competitive action gets underway is a problem. It would be something of a gamble to throw him in blind, so to speak. But the former Ole Miss standout’s boundless enthusiasm during team drills has been eye-catching, to say the least.
