Carolina Panthers final 2020 roster projection: Offense
By Dean Jones
Wide receivers (6)
- D.J. Moore
- Robby Anderson
- Curtis Samuel
- Seth Roberts
- Pharoh Cooper
- Brandon Zylstra
The Carolina Panthers have an embarrassment of riches at the wide receiver position. Their top-three options of D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson, and Curtis Samuel could be among the NFL’s best trios in 2020. A number of other talented players will be looking to make an impression with whatever targets come their way.
Moore is a superstar in the making who could have a sensational year with a more consistent quarterback getting him the ball. Samuel is a multi-purpose weapon who can make things happen on any given down. Anderson is a primary deep threat who comes into the organization looking to secure his first 1,000-yard season.
A concussion has kept Seth Roberts off the field for a large portion of camp. This might be something to keep a close eye on during the season. But it should not keep him off the 53-man roster.
Another who should make the team is Pharoh Cooper. He can be used on the outside, in the slot, or even as a running back depending on the situation. The player is also a prolific kick returner to further enhance his prospects.
It is going to be enormously difficult to leave Brandon Zylstra off the roster after his exceptional performances during Carolina Panthers’ training camp. His assured hands and polished intermediate route-running has really caught the eye and if he is waived, offers should stream in for the player.
Keith Kirkwood and Omar Bayless find themselves on the injured reserve list. The undrafted rookie should be part of the practice squad with the protected tag when healthy due to the big impression he made in Carolina. But what the Panthers do with Kirkwood is uncertain.
