Curtis Samuel faces a pivotal season with the Carolina Panthers in 2020. The wide receiver is coming off the best campaign of his young career after finally ridding himself of frustrating injury problems. But if there was ever a time for the former second-round pick to fulfill his promise, it is now.
The Ohio State product has a lot riding on the coming months. Samuel is heading into the final year of his deal and would hold all the cards if he can take another big leap forward next season after the Carolina Panthers opted not to trade the player during the 2020 NFL Draft.
This might have backed the organization into a corner regarding their No. 3 wideout option. Samuel has all the makings of a supreme playmaker and this is something we saw glimpses of in 2019. He is incredibly elusive in tight windows and seems to be able to make plays out of nothing.
These are two strong traits from which to build a successful career at the next level. The Panthers have a wealth of dangerous weapons on offense. But Joe Brady has already stated his intentions to get the ball in Samuel’s hands in different ways to maximize his productivity.
