There are some very good free agents still available and the Carolina Panthers could use some depth at certain positions.

This offseason has been a crazy ride, to say the least. Star players and faces of franchises have left and taken their talents to unexpected places.

The best player of all time, Tom Brady, did his best LeBron James impersonation and took his talents to Florida. He even brought his old friend Rob Gronkowski to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to try and get Bruce Arians his first ring.

The Indianapolis Colts are still trying to move on from the Andrew Luck era and have brought in veteran Philip Rivers to try and take the talented Colts roster to new heights.

Even some defensive stars have decided to find new homes. Byron Jones left the Cowboys to sign a deal with the Cowboys. He would have been crazy to turn down the deal they offered.

The Carolina Panthers have also been very active this offseason. They have a whole new coaching staff led by Matt Rhule from Baylor and the offense will be run by Joe Brady who just came off a very impressive season at LSU.

They have also decided to move on from Cam Newton and signed Teddy Bridgewater to a three-year deal. They want to give their new signal-caller the weapons he needs to succeed so they also signed former New York Jets receiver Robby Anderson who is just now entering his prime.

Even with all of these moves, the Panthers still have a lot of holes on both sides of the ball. With Greg Olsen leaving, Ian Thomas will be the starter at tight end and only Chris Manhertz was taken through to the 53-man roster as a backup.

The defense needs a lot of work. The Panthers invested heavily in their defensive line and have a lot of young talented players. The linebackers on the other hand could use a lot of help since Luke Kuechly announced his retirement. The defensive backs have needed help for a couple of seasons now and Carolina did not bring in any big-name safeties or corners.

There are a lot of very talented and proven free agents still available and a lot that could help fill the holes on the Panthers roster despite it being trimmed to 53 on Saturday. Here are three that would improve the roster significantly.
