Jordan Kunaszyk – LB

Jordan Kunaszyk was one of the more surprising names left off the 53-man roster. The linebacker performed well during the 2019 preseason and in limited action during the previous campaign. Given the lack of depth at the position, it was a head-scratcher that he wasn’t included in any capacity.

It now appears unlikely that Kunaszyk will be part of the Carolina Panthers after not making the initial practice squad. There is still one spot left to fill, but it doesn’t seem like the player is part of their plans going forward.

Kunaszyk has a lot of talent and is young enough to improve in the coming years. The former California standout has plenty going for him. But his current predicament so close to the 2020 season is concerning, to say the least.

Life is full of setbacks and this is all part of the business. Kunaszyk will know that more than most after going from an undrafted prospect in 2019 to finding his way onto the roster. So overcoming adversity is nothing new to him.

The Panthers’ depth at linebacker is desperate. There is simply no sugarcoating this fact and it has the scope to have a detrimental impact on their eventual record next season.
