Which members of the Carolina Panthers need to hit the ground running next season?

The time for talk and speculation is almost at an end for the Carolina Panthers. Final preparations are being made for their Week 1 clash against the Las Vegas Raiders at an empty Bank of America Stadium. But how this new-look group is actually going to fare is still relatively unknown.

This severely disrupted offseason has the chance to impact the Carolina Panthers more than most. They have a brand-new coaching staff who lack any sort of play-calling experience in the NFL and a roster who go into the campaign with more questions than answers.

It is vital that they show progression as the season goes on. Fans need to look at the bigger picture in Carolina during the first year of their rebuild. But they are coming up against plenty of legitimate Super Bowl contenders on the schedule, including two within their own division.

The pressure will be on some players more than others. Some are looking to make a name for themselves in a more prominent starting role. Others could be on their last chance not only with the organization but also in terms of being a starter in the NFL.

Carolina’s chances of mounting anything like a postseason push appear bleak. They do have an opportunity to surprise some people along the way is everything gels quickly. But a project like this is always going to take time.
