Here are the four most important Carolina Panthers players when they take on the Las Vegas Raiders in a pivotal 2020 season opener.

Last night saw the first official action of the 2020 NFL season. It will be the Carolina Panthers’ turn on Sunday when they take the field at an empty Bank of America Stadium against the Las Vegas Raiders.

This is a crunch Week 1 matchup that could shape the course of the entire season for the Carolina Panthers. They are coming into the campaign with a new-look roster and a coaching staff that hasn’t tested their skills prominently at the next level before. Expectations are low as a result, but there is just no telling how this group is going to fare until we see them in a competitive setting.

It is a long season that will tell us plenty about how long this extensive rebuild into a possible contender down the line is going to take. The Panthers have some unproven players occupying starting positions for the first time and a number of rookies who are also expected to perform from their first NFL snap.

New head coach Matt Rhule might be getting a free pass in terms of attaining anything notable this season. But the Panthers will still need to show that they are heading in the right direction on what could be a long path back to the postseason.

They will need their top performers firing on all cylinders from the outset. Here are four players who might end up being the most important against the Raiders.
