Carolina Panthers vs. Raiders: Prediction

  • Las Vegas Raiders 24 Carolina Panthers 26

This will be a game decided by fine margins. But if the Carolina Panthers can emerge with a victory it is going to do wonders for their confidence going forward.

There is nothing to suggest they are not more than capable of putting some significant points on the board. They have an offense that is among the NFL’s best in terms of legitimate playmakers and if their defense can stay competitive, then it could result in a narrow victory against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Carolina’s defensive front is going to be a key component in this. Their ability to stop Josh Jacobs should be much improved with Kawann Short and No. 7 overall pick Derrick Brown. This could be the springboard to success in Week 1.

Matt Rhule won’t be taking the Raiders lightly by any stretch of the imagination. This is a talented young roster who are expected to come on significantly in 2020 and it is hard to deny that this is a contest that could go either way.

Getting off to a positive start is imperative for the Panthers. If they can do this, build on early momentum, and make big plays when required, then a win might not be too far behind.

Not seeing them in action before today does leave some doubt. But their talent on both sides of the ball might just be enough.
