Which members of the Carolina Panthers practice squad might find themselves on the 53-man roster by Week 4 of the 2020 season?

It was a rusty performance by the Carolina Panthers as they began their 2020 season with defeat to the Las Vegas Raiders.

This was the first time we actually got to see the Carolina Panthers on the gridiron in a competitive environment since they ended the 2019 campaign. It was always going to take some time for this revamped group to build chemistry. But patience is not a virtue when it comes to the large majority of NFL fans.

There was some good and some bad regarding the Panthers in Week 1. The offense managed to get off on the front foot by scoring on their first three drives. But the concerns surrounding specific areas of the defense were there for all to see.

New head coach Matt Rhule isn’t going to make wholesale changes because of one result. Those he put on the 53-man roster will be given the benefit of the doubt for at least the next few games. But if certain individuals are not pulling their weight it will leave the Panthers with no alternative other than to go in a different direction.

They might scour the free-agent market for a veteran presence who could be a short-term fix. A more familiar solution would be to bring someone up from the practice squad onto the roster.
