What are some of the key matchup to watch when the Carolina Panthers take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium?

The Carolina Panthers now turn their attentions to their first NFC South divisional matchup of the 2020 season at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

They go into the game on the back of a 34-30 home loss to the Las Vegas Raiders that does appear to be a missed opportunity for the Carolina Panthers looking back. Significant improvements need to be made if they want to get anything out of their game at the Bucs, who harbor some lofty ambitions following a host of eye-catching signings in free agency.

Bringing in Tom Brady is something that generated more buzz around the organization than has been seen before. Not since their Super Bowl victory under Jon Gruden has there been this much expectation surrounding Tampa Bay and the legendary signal-caller will not want his home debut to go the same way as their opening weekend reverse at the New Orleans Saints.

The pressure will be on Brady and the Bucs, in no uncertain terms. There are fewer expectations on the Panthers to get anything notable in the way of success this season. But this promises to be a stern test of their credentials as heavy underdogs.

This is to be expected with a new-look roster and a coaching staff that called their first NFL game in Week 1. If the Bucs are all-in on securing another Vince Lombardi Trophy, then Carolina appears to be at the other end of the spectrum.

Let’s take a look at some of the key matchups to keep a close eye on when the Panthers collide with the Buccaneers on Sunday.
