Making chances count

The Carolina Panthers moved the ball well on offense in Teddy Bridgewater‘s debut. But it is vital that they make the most out of their red zone opportunities against the Buccaneers.

This was an area of the field they got into prominently against the Raiders, particularly early on. And if they can convert this into more touchdowns than field goals, it is going to do their chances of a successful season the world of good.

It is apparent that the Panthers will need to put up some significant points if they want to stay competitive during their first game on the road. The Bucs’ have an embarrassment of riches regarding their offensive weapons, so turning this into a shootout might be the only chance Carolina has to achieve victory.

The Panthers have their own dynamic players who can alter the course of a game on any given down. If they can establish the run with Christian McCaffrey early on, it is going to serve them well in the passing game and if there was one positional group that the Bucs look suspect, it is their secondary.

Offensive coordinator Joe Brady might have to make some adjustments to the gameplen if the score gets away from them in the opening exchanges. Finding the right balance will be key. But Carolina must make the most out of whatever opportunities come their way.
