4 big storylines to watch against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
By Dean Jones
What are some of the big storylines to watch when the Carolina Panthers take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2 of the 2020 season?
The Carolina Panthers face a daunting task in Week 2 when they travel to Raymond James Stadium for their first NFC South divisional matchup of the 2020 season.
This will be a stern test of their credentials against a team that has a realistic shot of making a Super Bowl run if they meet expectations. The Carolina Panthers showed some promise in their opening weekend defeat at the hands of the Las Vegas Raiders. And it would be considered a mammoth upset if they could secure an unlikely victory against the Buccaneers in Tom Brady’s home debut.
New head coach Matt Rhule had a baptism of fire in his first game coaching at the next level. The former Baylor man found out in no uncertain terms that he isn’t in college anymore and he will have learned a lot from his opening experience in a professional environment.
Coming up against such a legendary signal-caller such as Brady is going to be another big challenge early in Rhule’s tenure. Carolina will be relying on their offense heavily throughout the contest given the clear deficiencies on the defensive side of the ball. So it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this game go the same way as their Week 1 encounter against the Raiders.
There are some interesting storylines to consider heading into the weekend’s clash. Let’s take a look at four that stood out for us that could make a massive difference.
