The Tampa Bay Buccaneers going to be without star wide receiver Chris Godwin against the Carolina Panthers. Pro Bowler Mike Evans has also been struggling during the early stages of the season with a knock, although he looks likely to be almost at full health if his status at practice this week is any indication.

Tom Brady will need another wideout to step up after Godwin was unable to get out of the concussion protocol, and Scotty Miller might be that man. The diminutive receiver is of the same ilk as Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman, and Wes Welker in stature, who became favorite targets for the quarterback during his hugely successful spell with the New England Patriots that spanned two decades.

Miller was targeted six times during their Week 1 reverse at the New Orleans Saints, hauling in five receptions for 73 yards. This represents some outstanding production from the second-year player and something that will give him great confidence going up against the Panthers’ suspect linebacking group and secondary.

The former sixth-round pick out of Bowling Green has assured hands and possesses a low center of gravity that makes him extremely elusive. It seems Miller has already won the trust of Brady and the Panthers would be wise to keep a close eye on the receiver wherever he lines up on the field.
