Donte Jackson – Carolina Panthers CB

The health of Donte Jackson was a significant concern for the Carolina Panthers in Week 2. Their No. 1 cornerback missed a large portion of their opening weekend loss to the Raiders and although he practiced all week, all eyes were on his ability to perform once competitive action got underway.

Jackson showed that he was back to his old self with an assured performance overall. Bucs’ wide receiver Mike Evans did get the better of the former LSU sensation on occasions. But considering what was expected after missing so much time in Week 1, his efforts were largely encouraging.

This will be a massive confidence boost for Jackson, who will be looking to step up and be the team’s primary option in 2020 and beyond.

It’s not how you fall down, it’s how you get up.

Jackson gave up three receptions. But he did come up with a crucial interception that threatened to swing momentum in the Panthers’ direction.

Sadly, the offense was unable to make the most out of this opportunity, which played a leading role in their eventual demise. However, given the way that Jackson and Rasul Douglas performed together as a tandem. This might not be a big problem area for much longer.
