What are some of the biggest challenges facing the Carolina Panthers when they travel to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3?
The Carolina Panthers are now in their final stages of preparation before their long trip west to take on the Los Angeles Chargers this weekend.
Things are more uncertain than ever for the organization ahead of a crucial Week 3 contest. The Carolina Panthers won’t have the services of All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey for the clash and it remains to be seen just how the offense is going to look without their face of the franchise.
This is just another stumbling block for new head coach Matt Rhule to overcome during what has been a rough start to life in the NFL. The former Baylor man is getting a pass this season, which is the first of their substantial rebuild. But the longer he goes without an elusive first victory, the more questions will be asked about whether the Panthers were right to make wholesale changes to their roster.
Carolina is going to get all it can handle at the Chargers on Sunday. Anthony Lynn has a talented roster with the right blend of youth and experience that might end up in postseason contention when it is all said and done.
Although they took a loss at home to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2, there were plenty of reasons to be encouraged. Taking the Super Bowl champions to overtime was a notable achievement in itself and it should give them tremendous confidence ahead of a game where they are 6.5-point favorites.
Let’s take a look at some of the big challenges facing the Panthers in Week 3.
