Carolina Panthers vs. Chargers: Best Bets

The task facing the Carolina Panthers in Week 3 is further reflected by the current line surrounding the clash at SoFi Stadium.

This is to be expected when one considers they are on a ten-game slump dating back to last season. Couple this with the loss of star running back Christian McCaffrey and it is not hard to understand why the outlook is bleak at the Chargers.

The consensus points spread if 6.5 in favor of the home team. Carolina looked as if they might cover last weekend before giving up a late touchdown to Leonard Fournette at the Bucs. But much will depend on how they adjust in McCaffrey’s absence and whether Justin Herbert will continue his hot start under center in Los Angeles.

Carolina’s young roster does have their work cut out, as they will for most of the season if their first two weeks are any indication. The Chargers have been so inconsistent over the years that betting the +6.5 does seem a little risky, but there is just no telling if the Panthers can make the necessary adjustments to give themselves a fighting chance.

We are ever the eternal optimists, but betting is about making money. That’s why it might be worth gambling on the -6.5 and hope this is a mistake.

The current over-under on points is generally 43.5 and we are going with over this amount in a big play.
