Teddy Bridgewater – Carolina Panthers QB

I listed Teddy Bridgewater as a sit for Week 3, due to the elite pass rush capability of the Chargers defense led by Joey Bosa.

It turned out this rush wasn’t as much of a factor as the Carolina Panthers’ inability to score touchdowns in the red zone. The offense also failed to get DJ Moore and Robby Anderson involved, especially in the first half.

More on that later.

Bridgewater has yet to earn 20 fantasy points this season.

Start or sit in Week 4?

START.

Bridgewater should have a good day against Arizona. The Cardinals’ defense will have their backs against the wall, traveling to the east coast to redeem themselves after a loss to the Detroit Lions.

However, it may be a tough hill to climb for a team still growing into its identity. Bridgewater also told the media the offense needs to put more emphasis on red-zone plays, which was a glaring weak spot against the Chargers.

The recommitment to red zone efficiency could lead to some touchdowns for Bridgewater in Week 4.

Mike Davis – Carolina Panthers RB

Looking at the box score from Sunday, Mike Davis’ numbers don’t really stand out.

He failed to crack 100 yards from scrimmage but gave his fantasy owners a reason to celebrate with a second-quarter touchdown and ended the afternoon with 23.10 fantasy points. Had it not been for a couple of miscues in the red zone, Davis might have gone for more.

Start or sit in Week 4?

FLEX.

The Cardinals have played solid run defense the last two weeks but it’s Davis’ versatility that makes him a solid flex pick, especially in PPR. The Panthers shouldn’t have too much trouble moving the ball and Davis, who saw the most targets on Sunday, will be counted on to lead the way.
