Joey Slye – Carolina Panthers K

Joey Slye has made all nine of his field goals this year and came through with a clutch performance in a game where the Carolina Panthers couldn’t score touchdowns in the red zone.

Slye earned his highest total of fantasy points with 15 and could have had more if his lone PAT hadn’t been blocked.

START.

I completely whiffed on Slye last week. I was right in thinking the Panthers would have trouble moving the ball against Los Angeles, but the Chargers gave Carolina some great field position on several occasions which allowed the player to make easy field goals.

As mentioned, this game could easily be a shootout. If Slye stays consistent, he could wrack up another brilliant fantasy performance.

Carolina Panthers DST

A round of applause for the Panthers defense that landed in the top seven of all fantasy defenses on Sunday.

One interception, two sacks, and three fumble recoveries made the way for a total of 11 fantasy points. Although this won’t show up on any fantasy score sheet, Panthers’ long snapper JJ Jansen made an excellent play on special teams to force the Chargers to go the length of the field to try and win the game.

SIT.

I was wrong about the Panthers defense in Week 3, but the Cardinals are a bad matchup for this group.

Consider the fact that the Lions got one sack and intercepted quarterback Kyler Murray three times on Sunday and still only netted seven fantasy points. The quarterback is an electric passer and runner with a great new weapon in wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

The same defensive line that struggled to get pressure on immobile quarterbacks like Derek Carr and Tom Brady will more than likely have trouble against a speedy, mobile signal-caller like Murray.
