Jeremy Chinn – Carolina Panthers OLB

It has already come to the point where you start to run out of superlatives regarding the play of Jeremy Chinn.

The second-round pick has been nothing short of a revelation over his first three weeks in the NFL and Chinn already looks to be an indispensable member of the Carolina Panthers from a defensive standpoint.

It was a big gamble by the decision-makers to give up one of their eight picks to move up to No. 64 overall and select the Southern Illinois product. Chinn has wasted no time in rewarded their faith with a series of exceptional performances that have left no doubt as to his ability to deliver the goods in crucial situations.

Chinn has proven more than capable of filling the outside linebacker spot opposite Shaq Thompson, and he has been the best performer on the second level through three weeks. The player was outstanding once again at the Chargers and further displayed his instincts to be around the ball on almost every down.

This is another big confidence boost for the rookie, who looks to be a perfect fit in Carolina.

Chinn ended Sunday’s game with 12 combined tackles, six solo tackles, and one tackle for loss. But what was perhaps more telling was his improvement in coverage and an added discipline on the edge in running situations.

The sky is the limit for Chinn if he continues at this current rate, and the Panthers are fortunate to have him.
