Taylor Moton – Carolina Panthers OT

There isn’t much more than needs to be said about the performance of Taylor Moton at the Chargers. He was an absolute monster on the edge and heightened his standing as one of the best protectors in the business.

Moton dealt with any threat that came his way with his customary effortless. Everything seems so easy for a player who looks to have it all and the Carolina Panthers would be a lot worse off without him in their lineup.

The lineman’s start to the season is going to make him a wealthy man next spring. Moton is playing on the final year of his rookie deal and his base salary is going to skyrocket, in no uncertain terms.

Joey Bosa wanted no part of Moton after the first few exchanges, with the All-Pro opting to take his chances on Greg Little as a right defensive end in Melvin Ingram’s absence. This is another strong indicator as to just how quickly the Western Michigan product’s reputation is growing among his peers and when one thinks of Panthers players who the team cannot afford to lose at any cost, then he is now high on the shortlist.

The longer Moton plays to this high level without an extension, the costlier it is going to be for Carolina. They would be wise to give the right tackle whatever he wants and ensure his prime years are not spent with another team.
