Teddy Bridgewater – Carolina Panthers QB

Teddy Bridgewater was solid if not spectacular in Week 2 at the Chargers. The Carolina Panthers got out to an early lead and should have been out of sight in the first half. But the signal-caller managed the game well overall and got his first win as a starter with the franchise.

That was efficient enough to get the better of rookie quarterback Justin Herbert, but more is going to be needed coming up against a supreme talent in Kyler Murray. The No. 1 overall pick in 2019 has made an incredible start to his sophomore campaign and although he did throw three picks against the Lions last weekend, his level of play has been excellent otherwise.

Murray is one of the NFL’s most exciting young players. He has the arm strength to get the ball downfield quickly and can be equally as effective getting out of the pocket and gaining significant yardage with his legs.

If this game turns into a shootout, which is a real possibility, then Bridgewater needs to show the sort of confidence that we saw during his debut.

This sort of performance was probably what Bridgewater needed after enduring a torrid time at the Buccaneers and it will be interesting to see how the former first-round pick builds on this now that he has achieved his first victory in a Panthers’ uniform.
