Devon Kennard – OLB

The Arizona Cardinals have plenty of players on defense who can make their presence felt. Devon Kennard is someone who fits into this category and is an individual that warrants plenty of attention.

Kennard might be something of an afterthought when it comes to other more prominent members of the Cardinals’ defense, but the Carolina Panthers should ignore him at their peril if they want to make it back-to-back wins and get back to .500 on Sunday.

The former fifth-round pick has made his presence felt in 2020 so far, notching two sacks on his way to a 73.4 grade from Pro Football Focus. Kennard is a fiery character who provides some outstanding energy at the second level, and he also has a high football IQ that allows him to get into the backfield consistently.

Kennard’s production has prevented Isaiah Simmons from making the sort of impression that was initially expected from the first-round selection. The Panthers took Derrick Brown at No. 7 overall despite the former Clemson sensation falling out of the top-five and it might just be the right call when one considers the impact Jeremy Chinn has made after winning the outside linebacker job opposite Shaq Thompson during training camp.

If Carolina pays too much attention to the likes of Chandler Jones and Corey Peters, then Kennard could have additional space to do some damage.
