Taylor Moton – Carolina Panthers OT

The level of performance that Taylor Moton is currently playing at is astonishing. He can now be considered among the NFL’s best edge protectors and this has been a significant asset for the Carolina Panthers to call upon.

Moton has turned in some outstanding displays through four weeks. This follows on from two years of impressive consistency that is sure to come with a bumper payday next spring if things carry on as they are.

The former Western Michigan standout is playing on the final year of his rookie deal and is projected to command an annual salary of $16.3 million, according to Spotrac. This represents a rise of $2.3 million from their preseason projection and is further evidence of just how well Moton has begun the campaign.

He has yet to give up a sack this season. Moton does have one penalty to his name from 267 snaps, but his grade of 76.2 from Pro Football Focus following the first quarter of competitive action is a just reward for a player that is an indispensable member of the Panthers’ roster.

A first Pro Bowl selection might not be far away for Moton, especially if Carolina keeps on picking up positive results. More importantly for the player and the Panthers, it gives them a bookend presence at the right tackle position that should be extended at the earliest possible opportunity.
