What are some of the key matchups to watch out for when the Carolina Panthers travel to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5?

Momentum is building on the Carolina Panthers through the first four weeks of the 2020 season. They are in the midst of a two-game winning run and their new-look roster appears on the cusp of something special despite only being together for a short space of time.

New head coach Matt Rhule has commanded the respect of the locker room incredibly quickly. Veteran players and rookies alike seem to have bought into his philosophy and it is paying off with performances and has seen them get back to 2-2 thanks to a dominant victory over the Arizona Cardinals at Bank of America Stadium in Week 4.

This is a stark contrast to what is currently transpiring in Atlanta. The Falcons are in dire straits at 0-4, which includes two incredible collapses that were reminiscent of their Super Bowl loss to the New England Patriots.

They still have plenty of talent at their disposal. But Dan Quinn is now firmly on the hot seat and a loss at home to the Panthers this weekend could spell the end of his reign.

Carolina appears to be heading in a different direction and can get themselves to a winning record with their third straight triumph. This would be another shot in the arm for everyone associated with the organization and would further enhance their chances of surprising those who all-but wrote off the team’s chances of any semblance of respectability at this stage of their rebuild.

Let’s take a look at four key matchups for the Panthers that could play a leading role in any success that comes their way.
