Robby Anderson vs. Isaiah Oliver

There was once a time when D.J. Moore would be the attention of the best cornerback’s focus. But the emergence of Robby Anderson since he joined the Carolina Panthers might force the Falcons into a change of gameplan.

The free-agent signing is one of the NFL’s hottest players after a sensational start to the campaign. Anderson has come up with some exceptional plays and is currently ranked at No. 6 in the league charts regarding receiving yards.

It will be a case of pick your poison for Atlanta, who will need to account for all three of the Panthers’ top receiving options at all times given their ability to make a real difference when it matters most. However, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Anderson come up against Isaiah Oliver initially, although this situation might change if Moore is making his presence felt on the other end.

Another factor to consider is the potential return off the COVID-19/reserve list of A.J. Terrell, a 2020 first-round pick who has a significant amount of potential.

Oliver has performed well overall on a secondary that has been a concern for the Falcons. He has given up 19 receptions from 28 targets on his wat to a 61.2 grade from Pro Football Focus. But the cornerback will undoubtedly have his hands full with Anderson, who is right at the top of his game and brimming with confidence.
