4 Panthers players who exceeded expectations at the Falcons

Alex Armah – Carolina Panthers FB
Another who turned in an outstanding performance that will be largely overlooked was Alex Armah. The full-back position might be a dying breed in the NFL, but that doesn’t appear to be the case with the Carolina Panthers.
Mike Davis will deservedly get the headlines after a sensational display that has all-but-guaranteed a role in the offense even when star running back Christian McCaffrey returns from injury. But a lot of his success can be attributed to the performance of Armah and Carolina’s offensive line.
Armah was only on the field for 15 percent of the team’s offensive snaps. But the impact he made was nothing short of outstanding.
He got to the point of attack quickly and provided Davis with some nice running lanes on his way to some superb numbers, which is all the Panthers are looking for from a player who has become a valuable member of the roster in the right situations.
This is yet another string to the bow of an offense that is one of the NFL’s most dynamic under progressive young coordinator Joe Brady. Armah is working hard to maintain his relevance at a time when teams across the league are utilizing full-backs less and less with every passing year, which is something he deserves an enormous amount of credit for.
